Both of my youngest sisters have come to me in the last several weeks and handed me a small fistful of pennies."Emmie, could you use this to buy a hat and coat and some boots for a little child in Ecuador?" one asked.
"I know this isn't very much pennies...but could you use it to help the babies where you're going?" queried the other.
Their innocent questions touched my heart, but their unselfish sharing and belief in the potential of their contribution caught my attention.
Faith.
God provides in unexpected ways. Sometimes it's a widow's last dollar. Sometimes it's a generous gift from someone that you know can't "afford" it. Sometimes it's a job. Sometimes it's a little boy with two loaves and three fish.
But one thing is always true: God provides. Hudson Taylor said, "Where God guides He will always provide."
Don't overlook the provision that God is making for you today. It may come in an unlikely package, and the timing may not be what you expect.
Have faith.
God provides.
