Made for delight?

We say that our primary goal is to bring glory to God, but we live as though today is all there will ever be. God hates divided hearts! He has created us for Himself, and He has given us the Holy Spirit who enables us to fulfill His work.

I read this today:

"Not in your own strength, for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you the power and desire), both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight." Phil. 2:13(AMP)

Have you asked God to work in you? To energize you to accomplish His will in you? How do you know that He does not long to pour out His passion and delight in you?

Furthermore, do you really want to fulfill His good pleasure? Do you want to bring Him satisfaction and delight? Do you want to accomplish the purpose for which He created you?

For me, this is a time and a reminder to examine my own motives for pursuing the vision with which He has entrusted me. It can't be primarily to accomplish an earthly goal, to fix what I consider to be a glaring problem in this world, or to tell people in Ecuador about God. My first pursuit, my highest calling, and my deepest joy must be to bring glory to my heavenly Father.
