Hot springs

Last Thursday morning we awoke at 4am and by 4:45am were on our way down to Riobamba to pick up three friends and continue on our way to the hot springs in Chombo. Amy and I rode in the back of the pickup truck with two of Isaac's friends and had great conversation while enjoying the view of mist rising from the the mountain sides.

After spending a couple hours taking pictures, sitting in the springs, and enjoying the mountain views we took a delightful hike up the side of a mountain along path which was quite slippery and muddy at places.

On our way home we stopped in Chombo for a while and took a walk; visiting a bull fighting ring and a park. In the street a group of children where practicing a dance for the upcoming carnival. The carnival is a three day event during which people throw water on each other! The water throwing starts several days before the official carnival though and several of us have gotten wet today!

Thanks for pictures of the environment and team members in the real element (not quite posed picture perfect). Wonderful candid shots.

And I have to ask to obvious question: How warm were the springs?

As reported by Amy, they were about hot tub heat maybe 95-98 degrees Fahrenheit.
