Rebecca and I (Emily) had a great trip to Quito yesterday with Mr. and Mrs. Allan. We went to a mall, drank coffee, visited, and then met Suzanne at the airport around 8:15 pm. Her arrival was seamless and we are so glad to have her here!
Today will include initiating Suzanne into life here at The Ark, lots of introductions and questions, and adjusting our team so we can be most effective.
Tonight a few of us plan to go to prayer meeting in Riobamba with some friends.

The place between places...
What is "El lugar"?
In Genesis 28, Jacob was fleeing the familiar and heading toward a series of tests which God had prepared for him. After a dream in the night, Jacob declared, "Surely the LORD is in this place!" In Spanish, "El lugar entre de los lugares" means, "The place between places." Each of us is in a place between places...we are neither where we were (without the Lord), nor where we will be (in His presence). This blog is a record of how God is working in the place where He has us, and we hope that you will share in the joy of what He is doing!

Who are we?
We - Natalie Mawhinney, Rebecca Henry, Ashley MacKay, Amy Magnuson, Suzanne Glass, and Emily Mawhinney - will be living in Ecuador for (varying lengths of time within) three months beginning in January 2010. We will be serving in a christian home for abandoned children called The Ark Children's Homes. We will all be posting to this blog throughout our time of preparation and while we are living in Ecuador. We want to share with you what God is doing in our lives! We hope that you will join us in prayer, and we will keep you updated on what is happening.
